Ruby graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts in 2019 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Screenwriting).
During her time there, Ruby completed a script coverage traineeship with Roadshow Films and was the 2019 recipient of the Australian Writers’ Guild Mentorship Award.
She wrote and produced a concept pilot of her graduating script and as a graduate worked across a variety of short films and music videos.
From 2022-2023, Ruby worked on Adam Elliot’s upcoming feature Memoir of a Snail.
Most recently, Ruby has worked as a production manager on Maria Madeira’s filmed art installation Kiss and Don’t Tell, and the children’s feature film Magic Beach.
Ruby was the recipient of the 2024 Screen Australia’s ‘Enterprise People’ industry development grant recognising emerging creatives, in support of her career as a writer/producer. She is currently working in Arenamedia across a variety of projects for film and television, while continuing to write her own projects and edit online poetry magazine Sour Cherry Mag.
