After completing a Bachelor of Arts majoring in History and Spanish in 2009, Kate has pursued film production, casting and ultimately a career as a film producer. From 2013-2016 she worked with filmmaker Amiel Courtin-Wilson in production and development on a number of feature films and documentary projects. By 2017 she had independently produced her first feature film STRANGE COLOURS (Alena Lodkina) which premiered at the Venice International Film Festival and went on to be nominated for an AACTA award for Best Independent Feature. In 2018, she produced THREE STORIES INSIDE A RENTAL VAN for director Lewis Attey which premiered at Clermont Ferrand in France before touring extensively. In 2019, she participated in the Berlinale Talents in Berlin, Germany. From 2018-2019 Kate undertook a producer placement with Robert Connolly’s Arenamedia, during which time she produced a short documentary series – ART BITES: THIRD CULTURE KIDS for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation- with writer/director Santilla Chingaipe. Her latest narrative feature film PETROL (Alena Lodkina) premiered at Locarno Film Festival in 2022 and will be released in cinemas and on SBS in 2023.
